Our History

We are a worldwide integrated logistic services company, of national capital, which began operations in 1976. We offer a personalized service to our customers, a nationwide coverage, a highly qualified staff in different areas of the organization, high-tech systems, and a modern infrastructure of offices, warehouses and transportation equipment.

All the services we provide are focus to meet and support the importers and exporters logistics supply chain requirements at the locations that we operate.

Also we are part of a worldwide logistics services network that allows us to provide a global service.

Our company was founded July 1st, 1976 as an initiative of Enrique Chavarria Ramirez and two friends. Mr. Chavarria, with his extensive experience in finance, accounting and administration, and his friends, who had expertise associate with customs, created a “Customs Brokerage Agency” called Servicios de Correduria Aduanera S.A. (Servica S.A.) The project, carefully crafted, started with the support of twelve employees in its headquarters in San Jose and regional offices in the Main Custom (Central), the customs of the Intl. Juan Santamaria Airport, the ports of Limon and Puntarenas and in the boundaries of Paso Canoas and Peñas Blancas. After 5 years of prosperous and significant growth, the company had to face the economic crisis of the 80′s. Since then, through a significant amount of knowledge and ideas provided by Carlos Chavarria, his older son, started a new division, Servica Carga, created as an opportunity for international transportation.
Since 1985 Servica Carga was managed independently and developed activities such as cargo consolidation, ground handling services and general sales agent for airlines, representing airlines and cargo handling.
In 1999 Carlos and Oscar Chavarria created M&C Interlogistic, a company engaged in the distribution of goods. By then, the Custom Brokerage Agency (Servica) and Servica Carga operations were centralized and integrated as Grupo Servica, reaching as an important corporate segment with one main goal, being a company of integrated services in freight logistics.
That same year was established Consolidation Services Servica S.A., in order to separate the activity from air, sea and land consolidation services. It was then decided to locate the main office in Rio Segundo de Alajuela, establishing a new physical structure, accounting, commercial and administrative operations and consolidating the different companies into one.
In 2006 was opened a new logistics service, his own Bonded Warehouse in El Coyol of Alajuela, the fastest growing commercial and industrial area in the country. After a merging process of all group companies, a new structure was established with the name of GRUPO SERVICA COSTA RICA S.A. The company has grown with great support of integrated services and group identity. Today is a much stronger company with many opportunities ahead. The constant dedication, effort, sacrifice, responsibility and honesty are the family values that characterize it and allowed us to become who we are. As part of expanding the vision of integrated logistics services to regional level, Grupo Servica was established in Managua, Nicaragua in 2007, with inventory management services and distribution and international transportation services, contributing to the commercial development of this friendly country.
GRUPO SERVICA is now a group of integrated logistics services, maintaining a healthy balance between profitability and service excellence, considering the continuity of growth in its main areas of logistics and distribution without limitation, rather, opening the door to new opportunities through diversification.
